New this year – Rowan’s Law.
Row Ontario has been looking closely at current research, national sports and concussion groups to come up with a series of guidelines for Rowing Clubs in Ontario to follow. The Barrie Rowing Club is following these guidelines to ensure the health and safety of our athletes. Part of the policy in Rowan’s Law is also to educate both parents and athletes about concussions. The information guides for 15+ and 11-14 are found in the Forms & Documents section. Please indicate to us that you have read and understand the procedures and protocols of the Law by printing, signing and returning the RowOntario-Concussion-Code of Conduct-Athlete form found in the Forms & Documents section.
Learn To Row II: G’row your skills 2020 (16+ yr old)
This is a one-on-one sculling program for Learn To Row I graduates and returning rowers wanting a refresher course. It is designed to build confidence and facilitate the transition to a racing shell. It is highly recommended that LTR I graduates practice their new skills for a couple of weeks before signing up for the Learn To Row II course. There will be three sessions over a one- or two-week period at times to be determined to suit the participant (and the water conditions). Upon completion of LTR II, you will be invited to join one of the Club’s other programs. LTR II graduates may participate in any of the tours sponsored by the Ontario Adventure Rowing Association. Those joining as annual members will receive a full discount.
