Summer Coaching Opportunities

Position: Manager/ Assistant Manager Rowing Coaches

Type of Position: CONTRACT

Start & End Date: May 1, 2020 – August 31, 2020

Salary Range: $14.50 – $16.50

Nature and Scope

The Barrie Rowing Club is seeking 1 Manager/rowing coach and 1 assistant manager/rowing coach position to work over the 2020 summer season. Individuals in this role will be responsible for the delivery of customer service excellence through participant satisfaction and safety during all instructional sessions as well as in everyday interactions with club members, participants and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to provide a safe and fun environment to participants in programs with the Barrie Rowing Club.
  • Teach, coach and supervise a wide variety of programs for the season.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people associated with the programs, including but not limited to participants, parents, volunteers and other staff.
  • Play a role in ensuring the equipment used remains clean and in good repair throughout season
  • Maintain all relevant and required records
  • Work productively with other staff and volunteers to deliver high quality programs
  • Attend all scheduled staff training events and meetings
  • Maintain and upgrade as required certifications and qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR C Certification
  • Pleasure Craft Operators Card
  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • NCCP Coach Initiation in Sport online module (Can be completed after hiring)
  • Respect in Sport Certification (Can be completed after hiring)
  • Completion of an LTR Coach, or RCA Coach Weekend, workshops is an asset
  • Boat safety training and certification is an asset
  • WHMIS and AED is an asset
